Norfolxacin is an antibiotic belonging to a group of drugs called fluoroquinolones. Norfloxacin is used to treat certain types of bacterial infections. It is most commonly used to treat infections of the urinary tract and prostate. Norfloxacin is the generic form of this antibiotic. Noroxin ® is the brand name version of this drug, and was manufactured by Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc. However, according to the Food and Drug Administration these drugs have been dicontinued.
